Day 01: Arrival Shimla Transfer to Hotel.

 

Day 02: SHIMLA – KUFRI – FAGU – THEOG – NARKANDA – RAMPUR – JEORI – SARAHAN

Distance: 175 Km

 

Leave hotel at 09:00 hrs on the National Highway 22 The Old Hindustan Tibet Road (The Highway Built in 1853.) drive through the country side of Shimla District with Apple Orchards on the valleys terraced orchards, reach Theog the township with a reputation of one of the highest production of Vegetables in Asia. Reach Narkanda situated at 2708 meters one of the very famous slopes for Skiing in the Himachal Pradesh the view of the Great Himalayas is stunning form the Hattu Peak walk up to Hattu Peak at 3400 meters walking distance 5 Km one way if the transport can reach at 10 Km point, return lunch at Narkanda Hotel Hattu, drive through the Satluej valley in to Rampur with Satluej on your left side the Bushair state one of the most powerfull & oldest state with a powerfull kingdom once, now is a township on the banks of River Satluej. The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Raja Veer Bhadar Singh has his palace in the main town of Rampur & is a descendent of the Raja’s of Bushair, drive past the town to reach Jeori and turn to Sarahan over night stay in Hotel with the view of Shrikhand Ranges at the front the towering Mountains are at a height of 5000 – 5500 meters the town of Sarahan is surrounded in front of the Bhima Kali Temple which is considered one of the Shakti  Peeth power full places of Kali Godess the Temple has prayers on Sunrise & Sunset. The temple use to have human sacrifice before 18th Century.

 

Day 03: SARAHAN – JEORI – WANGTU – KARCHAM – SANGLA.

Morning at hotel after breakfast walk to the Bird Park which has one of the most endangered species of the western Tragopan which is only breaded in this Bird park total distance in walking is 3 Km.

Reach the Temple gates & visit the Temple inside with remarkable architecture of the hill state, until a certain point you can take your belongings thou the temple premises doesn’t allow photography inside at the second gate one has to leave the camera, leather goods & wear a hat before entering the main temple complex get the blessing of the Goddess. Dive back through the SSB training & command center reach Jeori, drive through the NH 22 to reach Wangtu bridge which is a life line for connecting people from Kinnaur to Shimla the bridge is one of the Asia’s highest longest bridge, drive Karcham is all long the left bank of the river drive with ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police) barracks reach Karcham where the Baspa river joins the Satluej River turn right to reach the Sangla Valley the most spectacular valley of the region the road is one of the highlights of the day as it’s a steep gorge in the Baspa river.

 

Day 04: SANGLA – RAKSHAM – CHITKUL – SANGLA

Morning after breakfast leave toward Chitkul the last Indian Village towards the Tibetan border, walk to the eagle eye view of the village & the valley. The Chitkul village is at 3460 meters above sea level, drive back to Sangla over night halt in Sangla.

 

Day 05: SANGLA – KARCHAM – POWARI – RECKONG – PEO – KALPA

Morning leave Sangla drive back to the main highway to Karcham drive to Powari the road turns left side up to Reckong – Peo the Headquarters of the Kinnaur district visit the monastery which has 60 ft tall statue of Gautam Buddha, drive to Kalpa the abode of lord Shiva is right in front the mighty Kinner Kailash the 6050 meters mountain is sacred to both Hindus & Buddhists the two towering peaks are to the left is Jorkenden & to the right hand side is Raldang Jorkenden is 6050 & Raldang is 5850 meters visit the orphange & the monastery.

 

Day 06: KALPA – RECKONG – PEO – WANGTU BRIDGE – RAMPUR – SHIMLA.

Morning leave Kalpa drive through the same route the national highway 22 to get back to Shimla.
